As of 24 Feb 2015, Exchange 2013 SP1 (CU4) can be installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Exchange 2007 SP3 UR13 / 2010 SP3 UR5 / 2013 CU4 can reside in a Windows 2012 R2 domain and forest with these specific updates installed. Look here under “Supported Active Directory environments”.
Office for Mac 2011 14.4.4 Update (update to SP3) was released today (26 Aug 2014) as well, with improved functionality in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
I read a comment on Twitter that Office 2013 SP1 is required to connect to Exchange 2013 SP1. This is true but only when MAPI/HTTP is enabled at the Exchange server. Look here at Tony Redmond’s article for more details.
